FAQs

Got questions? We've the answers!

Do you really offer a 24-month replacement policy?

For very senior roles we have, on a few occasions, offered a 24-month replacement policy. Which means, if the placed candidate leaves, for ANY reason during the first two years, we will recruit the role again with no additional charge as per our T&Cs. We usually offer, at a minimum, a 6-12 month replacement policy, which is much longer than most other recruitment firms provide. We’re able to provide this policy because approximately 96% of our placements are still in the role after 24 months.

Can you send me some CVs, quickly?

We can, but we won’t. And actually you don’t want us to do that. Rushing the recruitment process is a surefire way to find yourself repeating the process in six months. If you are considering making us your recruitment partner, we can only assume that this position is of importance to you. So, let’s move expediently, but let’s do it right!

Do you work internationally?

Yes, we have successfully completed projects across, Europe, Asia, The Middle East, Africa and North, South, and Central America. We have offices in the UK, The Netherlands and Bulgaria, with additional partners worldwide.

Should I just recruit myself?

If all you’re looking for is a handful of CVs, and you have the time, it’s probably more cost effective to just use LinkedIn. But keep in mind that you don’t hire CVs… you hire people. And a CV is only a small piece of the puzzle in deciding whether someone is the right candidate for your business. We review candidates though our i-intro platform, using video introduction, behavioural assessment and competency analysis. Which is why 96% of our placements are still in the role after 24 months. The cost of hiring the wrong person, who leaves (or is fired) within 12 months, is typically 3.5 x salary. So, if you want to give yourself the best chance of getting it right, the first time, we’re a better choice for this assignment.

How long have you been in business?

GrassGreener Group was established in March 2007. Collectively our recruitment consultants have many decades of experience. But we believe that our results are the most important measure of our experience and success. Take a look at our client testimonials and you’ll quickly see why.

What makes GrassGreener Group different to other recruitment firms?

Most other recruitment firms will tell you that their most important metric is their ability to place an experienced, qualified person in your role. We disagree. The most important metric is whether that placement stays. It does you no good to hire an amazing candidate if they leave (or you have to let them go) after only a few months. Most other recruitment firms don’t (or won’t) track their metrics. By contrast, we’ve refined our recruitment process to ensure that an incredible 96% of our placements are still in the role after 24 months. It’s great if a recruitment firm has industry knowledge, deep connections and experience. But we believe success in recruitment is measured by the longevity of placements.

What’s the average retention for new hires?

The average retention rate across all industries is around 85%. But in the industries we serve, our clients (before working with us) report numbers as low as 60%. Taking our recruitment work as a whole, our numbers are considerably higher:

  • 98% after 12 months
  • 96% after 24 months

This considerable difference in retention rate represents an enormous saving to you in terms of time and costs. To see exactly how much a 96% retention rate can save you, try our free Bad Hire Calculator.

How important is it to use a recruiter with industry expertise?

It’s important, but only if it’s combined with a proven track record of high quality placements. A recruiter should be able to evidence their ability to reduce your time and costs associated with recruitment. They should also be able to provide references from previous clients. Before retaining a recruiter, always ask them what percentage of their placements are still in the role after 12 months. If they can’t provide this information, you’re within your rights to question how seriously they take their work.

What happens if you can’t find us a suitable candidate?

This is rare, but every recruiter occasionally experiences this during their career. In the unlikely event that this situation arises, we’ll sit down together, re-evaluate the search and go again. If you would like to speak directly to one of our previous clients to obtain a direct reference, please don’t hesitate to ask.
