On 30th May 2014, GrassGreener Group’s marketing manager, David Congreave, will be tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise money and awareness for Simon on the Streets, a charity committed to helping the long-term homeless in Leeds and the surrounding areas.
Since the start of the year, David has been taking part in regular training walks, most recently completing a 12.5 mile walk that included Little Whernside (1982ft) and Great Whernside (2311ft), almost being blown off the tallest peak in the process.
When asked if he was confident about completing the challenge, David said, “Completing the National Three Peaks last year has given me a lot of confidence but I’m not taking this challenge lightly. Unlike the N3P this is one long 24.5 mile walk without any car breaks so I’m expecting to be pretty sore by the end. The weather’s going to be a factor as well as the difference in weather between the bottom and top of a mountain can be huge.”
David is attempting the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge with a group of walkers, led by KutaOutdoors, all raising money for Simon on the Streets, a charity committed to helping the long-term homeless in Leeds and the surrounding areas.
