The agricultural and irrigation industry in The Russian Federation is critical to the continued growth of the region’s economy. The objective of the RBU Director is to push the Russia & CIS operation to a level that matches the firms market domination in the rest of the world, through a structured, yet persistent, approach.
The business operates in 150 countries, through 37 subsidiaries, with 13 factories throughout the world. The company has 3,000 employees and manufactures products in 11 plants with over 2,000 employees. Annual sales in 2012 totaled over $850 million and they expanded rapidly into emerging markets, such as Russia & CIS, China, Vietnam and South Asia.
Responsibilities and Skills
The successful candidate will be wholly responsible for P&L in the given territory as well as developing and improving all aspects of the business, especially in the areas of sales, marketing, business development and customer service.
You must be a well-structured, highly responsible and commercially-minded individual in order to maximize on this challenge and directly lead a team of three Managing Directors.
This role will require a strong, personable leader who has the patience and empathy to encourage feedback and initiative from the existing team, while still maintaining the confidence to make the tough decisions.
Market knowledge (irrigation, agriculture, horticulture, greenhouses) is especially important, as it is critical that the successful candidate is able to hit the ground running.
Preferably based in Western Europe, to be close to the clients European HQ, you must speak Russian and will be required to spend at least 50% of your time in the Russia & CIS region.
