Senior Flavourist - Sweet & Beverage (Position Filled)

Responsibilities
Creation of Flavours:
- Creating ‘Fit for Purpose’ flavours that are specifically designed to meet customer
needs - Development of Liquid and Dry Flavourings, Emulsions and Compounds
- Full formula management and responsibility of all personally developed formulas. Including
entry onto IT systems and legal suitability.
Training Junior and Trainee Flavourists:
- Responsible for guidance, supervision and training of some members of the team
- Help create a training platform with specified levels and performance matrix
Production, Purchasing and Customer Support:
- Guidance on first production runs, production issues and general production related
questions - Customer support and guidance for NPD and for production questions
- Raw material assessment and evaluation for alternative vendor process, raw material
replacement, quality issues and availability
Project Management:
- Management, co-ordination and monitoring of specific internal projects
- Structure and provide a project plan
- Projects will be associated to varied areas by typically will be process, system, technology
or developmental in their nature - Prioritise projects and associated tasks
General Responsibilities:
- Connect with the European team and provide support for EU and Global projects – travel
across Europe will be required - Manage or provide assistance for harmonisation and production projects
- Have a commercial approach to all activities
- Good understanding of EU flavour regulations
- Project Management with associated activities, timelines and goals. Providing status
updates to all relevant people
Skills and Abilities
- Project Management Skills
- Supervisory and Management knowledge including training, mentoring and monitoring
- Clear and concise written and spoken communication skills
- Ability to present written information in a structured and balance way appropriate to the
needs of the reader
Experience
- 8+ years industry related experience
- Some supervisory/Management experience
- Educated to degree level in a related subject
Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of EU Flavour and food/labeling regulations
- Excellent knowledge of flavouring raw materials, their benefits, usage and functionality
- Flavour suitability and requirements
- Understanding of emulsions, extraction, spray drying and compound development
Personal Attributes and other requirements
- Autonomous and able to work without supervision
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to multitask
- Willing to travel and occasionally work unsocial hours
- Be a good team worker demonstrating loyalty and commitment to the organisation and
team members - Ability to work under pressure
