2016 sees another milestone in Rodo’s esteemed history, marking 90 years since they began supplying brushes and brooms to local trades around the Manchester area. 2014 saw another chapter in their development with the opening of a new state of the art warehouse. Whilst so much has changed since 1926 the company philosophy remains the same: good products and good relationships are the heart of what they do. Rodo have big plans for the near future with huge growth expected in the next 4 years. Rodo employ 125 people, but are looking for a technical focused Business Development Manager to join the team to undertake a number of vital duties.

The Role:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for reviewing the current product range, introducing new product ranges, improving cost effectiveness with the view of increasing overall sales. You will report directly into the Sales Director and Managing Director.

Key duties:

  • Conducting full range review of existing products to ascertain need for additions/deletions to existing range. Finalisation of future ranges to support existing entry level sales and new market ambitions.
  • Review of existing price points and pricing strategies to ensure optimum impact of sales opportunities.
  • Working with the purchasing manager to understand supply chain mechanisms and opportunities.
  • Review of existing specifications and certifications. Working with quality control to ensure cost effective conformity with all technical specifications.
  • New product development.
  • Co-operation with Sales Director regarding development of sales strategy to increase sales to existing customers via traditional routes.
  • Development of sales strategy to create new sales opportunities within sector including tenders and potentially large end users.
  • Implementation of sales strategy for new business including responsibility for achieving attainment of agreed budgets.
  • Over medium term, building and management of sales team capable of achieving corporate objectives and agreed budgets.
  • Sector management responsibilities including personnel, budgeting and P&L account responsibilities.
  • Working with marketing department to ensure further contribution to brand development.
  • Working with marketing department to develop cost effective marketing strategies for both existing and new customers.
  • Consideration of development of niche market opportunities with agreed areas of industry specialisation.

Requirements:

  • You must have knowledge of Hi-Vis/FR product lines.
  • You must have significant experience in a sales/business development role.
